As I begun reading the Nobel Prize Literature I after a while discovered that I do in fact like to read poetry as well as writing my own poems. I don't do that as often as I used to though, but happens... I was positively surprised once I learned about Korean poet Ko Un.

A Slower pace, a somewhat slower pace will do.Of a sudden should it start to rain, let yourself get soaked.An old friend the rain. One thing alone is beautiful; setting off.The world's to a waste, to live in a single place, or three or four.Walk on and on, until the sun sets, with your old accomplice, shadow, late as ever.If the day clouds over go on anyways, regardless.

  The Pilgrimage, Ko Un.

There are stories. There are people telling stories and people listening to them. The room is full of the breath of the stories . That is enough.

I  really enjoy reading any kind of poetry but so far Stories and The Pilgrimage by Ko Un have become two of my favorites.

I really like the frontpage quite a lot (it's a black and white photo) which I personally think is much more classy than those colour ones. Black and white photos reminds me of the 1950s somehow. Anyways, the title of this book by Donald Kirk is really hard to forget , don't you think ?

or more correcty writers of Korean decent, saddly my knowledge in Korean is not at such a level that I can enjoy novels in Korean yet. Maybe baby books, so all of the authors presented in this post are Koreans by decent and they write in English...

Here's a random selection of authors and books... Maybe you could recommend Korean authors or novels ?

• Therese Park (A Gift Of The Emperor, When A Rooster Crows At Night)
• Mari Paik Lee (Quiet Odyssey)
• Helie Lee (Still Life With Rice)
• Richard E. Kim (The Martyred, The Innocent, Lost Names)
• Nancy Kim (Chinhominey's Secret)
• Nora Okja Keller (Comfort Women, Fox Girls)

I seem to prefer books with titles that includes food somehow like Trail Of Crumbs and Still Life With Rice but to this day I havn't been able to read any of them. But I've read the books by Jane Jeong Trenka and I think it good that someone has been able to write about their life yet I think I personally would feel restricted since you only have your experience and your own life to compare with, but so far there has been 200000 Korean adoptees which means they most likely havn't had a similar life... We share one thing that is the notion of being KADs or adoptees but everything else might be more or less dissimilar.


And yes, the problem with Blogger is still not fixed.

That's a farely recent book that the Ling sister's has colaborated in and it was released this May, and as many of you may know one of the sisters' Laura Ling, was captured by North Korea and held in Korean prison for several months while the other sister Lisa Ling tried her very best to get her sister released and back too America.

Both of them are coincidentally journalists...

Read it, it's very interesting and you get an insight to the real people in North Korea and yes as you expected the story ended well and Laura Ling is no longer in prison...

It's true I'm smitten by Halluya , and anther interesting and in my opinion lovely book is Pop goes Korea and I'm having a new personal goal; to collect as many books that I possibly can about North and South Korea, the Korean War, Korean inter country adoption and international adoption.
Unrealistic and impossible maybe ... does it seem peculiar or odd to you?

Honestly speaking I'm more interested in North and South Korea and especially the Korean war than I am about adoption.

About the picture it was taken by me, which means I own the book as well as this picture.

I have also decided to start writing my thesis despite the fact that my tutor and I don't get along that well... I've already successfully completed 28 pages ( 3 pages of references though) so in reality it means I've written 25 pages of text and 15 pages is left. 30 - 40 pages is the accepted lenght of a Bachelor thesis and I still havn't started on the analysis so I might be able to present my thesis here after all.
